Ohio offers priest certificate so they can learn hispanic needs

Understanding the growth of the Hispanic Catholic community not only in Ohio but in the country, Ohio has authorized a Hispanic Pastoral Ministry. It’s a certificate program designed to prepare clergy for the future of a predominantly Hispanic congregations.
The Josephinum will teach Hispanic and non-Hispanic priests what is necessary to connect with Hispanics both on a spiritual and practical level.
The program is very intensive, which includes learning to read and write Spanish, being a part of a Spanish church either in the United States or abroad, and being a part of Spanish youth and prison ministries.
The program, based in Columbus Ohio, will likely expand as time passes.
