Reports are out saying five members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, including Rep. Luis Gutierrez met Thursday to discuss immigration reform.

According to reports, the five CHC met with the Obama administration in the Roosevelt Room

The Tuesday meeting was a meeting on the minds to see if there was a shared vision and develop a common plan, Gutierrez told reporters. Along with Gutierrez, Cecilia Munoz, the White House Director of Domestic Policy Council will be on the immigration committee as well.

Though the Democratic Party may appear to be leading the way in immigration reform, the GOP also has plans to fix the immigration issue. Junior Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced his plan last week.  In fact, in 2001 Oran Hatch introduced a comprehensive immigration reform bill as a Republican before the Democrats took up the issue as their own.
