Lorain – Saturday Sept 29 the Lorain Arts Council hosted their inaugural Black River Art Walk at their 737 location on Broadway in Lorain.

The 8 hour program had live music, food, drinks, and games for children, and crafts.  Artist vendors were also there, including photographers, painters, sculptors, and jewelry maker.

Several hundred people made their way through the program.  Antonio Barrios, president of the Lorain Arts Council hopes to make the event annual, highlighting the art of the area and transforming it into a center for not only traditional art like paintings and photographs, but performing arts as well

The downtown Lorain area has been attempting over the past few years to change the stigma and mindset of the area.  The hope is by changing the mindset, businesses will come to the area, and people will come to downtown businesses, spend money and enjoy themselves.
