In Conjunction with National Hispanic Heritage Month, Los Unidos and the Office of Student Life at the Lorain County Community College in Elyria Ohio presented, “Illegal Immigration: A Humanitarian Perspective,” presented by Jesus Nebot.
Nebot is a filmmaker and lecturer who immigrated from Spain and from humble beginnings has become an expert on humanitarian issues.
“Immigration wasn’t always bad, said Nebot. “There was a time when the United States used immigrants to better their country.”
Nebot also attempted to change the perspective of the audience from the government’s point of view to a moral point of view.
“The government wants this to be a political issue, but it’s not,” said Nebot. “Immigration is a humanitarian issue.”
