Puerto Rican culture night celebrates ‘la isla del encanto’

Puerto Ricans — the 2009 International Festival spotlight nationality — got together Wednesday at culture night at DeLuca’s Place in the Park to celebrate their heritage and “la isla del encanto” (Puerto Rico, “the island of enchantment).
Cleveland TV personality Lydia Esparra hosted. U.S. Army 65th Infantry serviceman Carlos Montes was honored.
Several dance groups provided entertainment. But when the formalities were over and the crowd took the dance floor, Puerto Rican dancing was in its glory.
